How to Help

We are a non-profit run entirely on volunteer power and generous donations from people like you.

To become a permanent part of the museum, consider Adopting a Picket that will be part of a fence around our building.

To simply donate to our cause:

We no longer hold indoor yard sales and cannot accept random donations of items.
We do however accept used Lego, model train supplies and some craft items.
We also accept donations of prepackaged snacks or drinks to sell in our snack bar.

We always appreciate volunteer help. Check out this list of projects to see if you can help.

HANDICAP RAMP

Installing a handicap ramp will significantly benefit our guests. There are many people that haven’t been able to come because of the 11 steps up to the main floor. We have many grandparents that come but struggle up and down those stairs every time.

This is a project we have been wanting to tackle since day 1. We finally figured out where and how to install it. We plan to knock out the second window on 1st street and change it to a door. The ramp will head west down the north side of the building to the sidewalk right by the parking on 1st street.

We have the Bourbon County Good Neighbor Action Team willing to build the ramp for only the cost of materials. However, WE NEED A CONTRACTOR willing and able to change a window into a door. We have tried reaching out to a few general contractors and haven’t had any luck getting a real quote. They all seem too busy to tackle a project like this.

If you know any contractors, PLEASE talk to them about how important this project is and have them contact Lorina Bowman @ 209-204-9743 or Johnathan Bowman @ 209-275-2372 to set up a time for them to come give a quote on how much this project will cost. Once we know that total we can start a fundraiser or apply for grants.

Thank you for supporting our non-profit!!!
